Privacy
This document is currently under review. It describes how CottageBee actually behaves today; if anything here is unclear, ask us before relying on it.
What we store
CottageBee stores the business records you enter: ingredients, recipes, products, labels, inventory counts, and sales. Each bakery's records live in their own database, separate from every other bakery's.
For your account itself we store an email address and a display name. If you sign in through Google, Apple, or Facebook, we also store the account identifier that provider gives us — never your password, which they do not share with us.
If instead you sign in with a one-time code we email you, we store only a cryptographic hash of that code, never the code itself, and it stops working a few minutes after it is sent.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data, or share it for advertising.
- We do not use your recipes for anything except showing them to you.
- We never sell or share customer information, or use it for advertising. Your bakery's feedback page requires only the comment itself — name, email and phone are optional fields a customer can leave blank. Anything they do fill in is stored in your records and shown to you, not used by us.
Cookies
A session cookie keeps you signed in. That is what it is for; it does not follow you to other sites.
What your browser loads
Everything a CottageBee page needs — typefaces, scripts, images — comes from CottageBee's own servers. No part of the site asks your browser to fetch anything from anyone else, so no third party sees that you visited or what you looked at.
What we record about visits
Every page view is logged on our own server: the page, the time, your IP address, your browser's user-agent, and an approximate location derived from the address. It tells us which pages get used and which visitors are search-engine crawlers.
It is not sold, not shared, and not sent to any analytics company — there is no Google Analytics or equivalent on this site. No extra cookie is set for it.
The mobile app
The CottageBee POS app has its own policy covering camera and payment handling: CottageBee POS privacy policy.
Getting your data out, or deleted
Ask and we will export your records or delete your account. There is no self-service button for this yet — email us and a person will do it.
